A mix of emotions.

When I found out I was pregnant I freaked out...I wasn't planning on any more children. When I saw the baby via ultrasound everything changed. Every ultrasound was a blast...seeing the baby move all around was breathtaking. Listening to the heartbeat melted my heart. Fast forward to 18 weeks. I was refered to a high risk doctor (due to having a special needs child and also delivering early) I got to find out I was having a boy! I was excited! At the time he was moving around so much they couldn't get a good look at his heart. 22 weeks I got an ultrasound and they got to see some of the heart. Doctor refered me to a cardioligist (he thought he saw a problem with the heart) today I found out Ethan has Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome (HLHS) I am really scared because he has to have surgery right after birth and then two more surgeries by the time he is five years old. Prayers and support is needed with us during this time. I go back to the high risk doctor on the 20th of December so wish me luck.

I got a diagnosis today....my sweet baby boy Ethan (due 3/22/2011) has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Over the next few months I will be blogging about our journey with Ethan. Please follow along with us as we share our story with you. Melissa
